As a drummer ,when this song came out it was a breath of fresh air,, The drum part is so well written ,constructed and played.. That Snare sound has been in my head over 25 years .... THAT IS THE SOUND I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR for the last 42 years ..and it took me a Very long time to find out what he played ..

Cool song. I always like these kind of underground rockabilly songs. When i first heard this in early 90s i instantly liked it. Kieran Kane, Kevin Welch & Joe Ely were a big part of the Texas music scene in the 80s & early 90s. 👍🎸

This is one of those songs from the 90s that stuck with me. I love that big de-tuned electric guitar in the back swirling around menacingly.. really great tone. I love everything about this song. There was this gap between when it was on CMT and when you could actually search for and download music where I couldn't find it in the late 90s/early 2000s and that sucked..then finally I found it a few years after. I really dig it.

Its refreshing to hear Music, with thought, Intricate Rhythms, Hook and not some SAMPLED CRAP with Cher's Voice Effects. Its a lost art of writing Original Cool music that grabs you and makes you want to dance.

I saw Kevin doing this song live with Fats Kaplin at a pub called the Adelphi in Preston. I cannot remember when, late 1990's I guess. It was a magical evening which does not seem to come round anymore. I really like the hook line at the end, one of the best ever. You might care to check out the Trisha's. They are a 4 girl harmony group featuring Kevin's daughter Savannah.
